Radio station broadcast there content through a set of frequencies, and this is how they are picked up on the other side of the transmission. they signal sends out a set of 1's and 0's this set of numbers are transformed on the other side into what they originally were. they transmit these through something called an antenna.

This is because it was created by the major company The BBC.
